Exness Spreads — Measured, and Read Without Loading Your Machine — Lesotho
Every figure below was recorded on a live Exness MetaTrader 5 Standard feed by an in-terminal measurement — the spread the platform actually quoted. Dollar costs default to 0.1 lot, the size most retail accounts actually run; switch to 0.01 or 1.0 below. Reading the table costs one page load, while keeping the same instruments streaming in a platform costs memory and charge for as long as the window stays open.
Reading the measured numbers on this page costs the device one page load. Keeping the same instruments streaming inside a platform costs memory and a live connection for as long as the window stays open, and it costs charge on a laptop or a phone. On hardware with little to spare, a table that was captured once and then sits still is the cheap way to see what trading costs before anything heavy is launched.

Typical = the median of all readings. The min–p90 strip shows how far the spread stretched under load; a stable in sample badge means the spread never moved across the whole sample — on Exness Standard many instruments are quoted with stable target spreads, so identical min, median and p90 is expected there, not an error. Forex pairs are quoted in pips; metals, indices, energy and crypto in points — the cost column converts each instrument into the dollar cost of opening the selected lot size at the typical spread. Confidence dots: ●●● at least 2,000 readings, ●● at least 800, ● below that — treat single-dot rows as indicative. Dollar costs differ in magnitude because contract sizes differ: 1 lot of JP225 (Nikkei 225) is a contract of just 1 — a fraction of other instruments’ notional — so a cost of a few cents per lot is genuine, not an error; the “cost vs daily move” column is the fair cross-instrument comparison. Server Exness-MT5Trial11, captured 13 Aug 2026, 07:53 server time.
What this means for a small account
- Lowest entry cost relative to the daily move: JP225 (Nikkei 225) — the spread takes about 0.2% of an average day’s range ($0.00 per 0.1 lot).
- Highest: EUR/GBP — about 7.1% of the daily move is gone on entry; short-term trades there pay a premium on Standard.
- Widest single reading in this sample: GBP/JPY at 24.1 pips around 20:00 server — around the daily rollover — opening positions in that hour costs more.
Spread through the day
Hours are platform server time. Values are printed above each bar; hatched hours were outside this capture window — they are not zero, just not measured yet. Session bands are indicative (summer-time anchors).
Holding overnight — measured swaps

Read from the platform’s contract specifications at the same capture (2026-08-13). Negative = a nightly charge, positive = a nightly credit; on the triple-swap day three nights are applied at once. “Held 5 nights” counts 7 charges where the instrument has a triple-swap day — a Monday→Saturday hold crosses it once; energies (US Oil, UK Oil) have no triple day, so five nights mean five charges — the realistic cost of a week-long position, not the per-night teaser. See swap rates for how swaps work.
What will this position cost?
Swap charges assume the worst case: each run of 7 nights crosses one triple-swap day; energies (US Oil, UK Oil) have no triple day and charge once per night. Figures combine the measured entry spread with the captured swap for the chosen side — indicative, not a quote.
“From 0.0 pips” — which account is that, really?
The advertised “from 0.0” belongs to the Raw Spread account, which adds a fixed commission per side. This page measures the Standard account — the fair comparison is the all-in cost per trade:
Standard — EUR/USD
0.8 pips typical spread · no commission · min deposit none on Standard accounts. Measured reading by reading on the platform’s own feed.
Raw Spread — EUR/USD
Advertised “from 0.0 pips” plus a commission of up to $3.50 per side ≈ a $7.00 floor per round turn. It works out lower only when the raw spread really holds near zero — Raw Spread is not measured on this page.

One capture per day from the same MT5 feed. A narrow range means the median spread held steady across the period. Readings taken while an instrument’s market was closed or in pre-open are excluded by the pipeline — they are quote artifacts, not tradeable spreads. How this was measured
The numbers above are measurements, not promises.
They come from the Standard account this page tracks — min deposit none on Standard accounts. Spreads vary with market conditions. Last updated 2026-08-13.

A page instead of a screen full of charts
A quote list that updates without pause is the most expensive thing a modest computer can be asked to hold, because every row is a stream that keeps arriving whether or not anyone is watching it. A table that was captured once costs nothing at all once it has finished loading.
That difference is why it is worth checking costs here first and opening the platform second. The figures below come from the capture described on this page; they do not depend on anything running on the device, and reading them neither warms the laptop nor drains the phone.
It also means the numbers can be read on hardware that would struggle to run a desktop platform at all: an older tablet, a phone with a nearly full storage bar, a computer with the smaller memory option.
What a long watch list costs while it is open
Each instrument left updating holds a small amount of memory and a continuous share of the connection. One or two rows are nothing; the full list kept open all day on a laptop running on battery is a running cost that shows up as heat and as a shorter afternoon.
The practical habit is to keep in the platform only what is actually traded and to come back to a page like this one for everything else. The information is the same, and the difference is that a page stops working the moment it has loaded.
On a phone the same logic bites harder, because an app left in the background keeps its connection alive and keeps spending charge with the screen off.
Reading costs without launching anything
There is a natural order of work on a machine that is short of resources: decide what to look at, read the measured figures from a page, and only then open the platform for the single chart that is actually needed. Reversed, the computer spends the whole session holding windows that were opened just to check a number.
Nothing about the figures changes with that order. They were recorded on a live account as described above and are shown here exactly as captured; the only thing that changes is how much of the computer was spent to reach them.
Watching prices without loading the machine
- Read the measured table here first and note the instruments that actually matter for the day.
- Open the platform with a single chart rather than a screen of them.
- Trim the quote list to the same short set, because every row removed is one stream fewer.
- Keep the longer comparison on this page instead of adding windows to hold it.
- On battery, close the platform between sessions; a page keeps showing what it showed with no connection at all.
- On a phone, close the app fully when the day is done rather than leaving it in the background.
- If the machine still lags with one chart open, the ceiling is the hardware and no arrangement of windows will move it.
The figures in the table are measured readings and none of this touches them. Trimming windows changes what the device is doing, never what the market quoted.
Ways to see the same numbers, by what the device does
| Way to see them | What the device does | What it costs while open |
|---|---|---|
| This measured table | Loads once, then sits still | One page in memory, nothing on the drive |
| One chart in the platform | Receives updates for a single instrument | Small and steady |
| A full quote list left open | Receives updates for every row on the list | Memory and charge for as long as the window stays |
| The phone app in the background | Keeps its connection alive with the screen off | Charge, quietly, all day |
| A screen of chart windows | Redraws each one on every update | The heaviest load a modest computer will meet |
Relative costs, not measurements: the exact load depends on the device, the operating system and how many rows are kept updating. The spread figures above are the measured ones and are unchanged by any of this.
